as i watch my body update

i watch, thrilled, as each patch and fix
is applied over my
factory-standard body

this waiting
watching a progress bar inch
towards something that still feels impossible

even as i know that this
is built into every cell
and all i had to do was flip a switch

the loading bar before
my life can continue
never seemed so long
